Senki Zesshou Symphogear Glossary
A popular serialized comic that has appeared in Monthly Girls Comics Magazine, since about half a year ago. It has an animation project, that’s currently in progress, which was shortly announced after the first volume had been released. Its catchphrase is “3 million maidenly love songs.”
Even after the former Singular Disaster Anti-Riot Unit Division 2 had been reorganised into “S.O.N.G.” an organization under the direct control of the UN, its activities were kept highly confidential, and their various affairs were concealed through confidentiality agreements and media manipulation, but be that as it may, it is safe to say that it was roughly under the same supervision as on the web, where bit by bit people who were unable to keep their lips zipped began to speak gossip about “female figures” and “songs that could be heard in disaster zone areas.”
Its backstory goes like this, despite rumours being laid down and spread by students, and schools, “Delightful Heroine☆Singin’ Hood!” was adapted as a comic from a major publisher, who settled the planning for it with an advertising agency by the request of a Government Agency.
The idea was to deliberately repaint the awareness that the public held about incidents handled by the media with fiction, like how it seemed that at one point there were “Human-faced dogs” and the “Slit-mouthed Woman” about, and as a result, they succeeded in their scheme to carry out fact-finding suppression, by minimally controlling the transmission of information towards their desired destinations.
The plot of the story, starts with the protagonist “Singin’ Hood” who is a guardian angel for the Happy Song Kingdom, and one of the candidates to be the future chief archangel, visiting the human world along with several other candidates, where she will use her (transformation) song magic, and be drawn into the standardized contests that will unfold under the original rule that the guardian angel who makes the most number of people happy will be chosen as the next archangel chief.
Although Singin’ Hood is a ditzy, energetic and always tries her best, she sometimes cooperates, or competes with the other cadets, for a period of a year, while busying herself with collecting “happiness shards.”
During this time, she solves a bribery scandal case where an intervening corrupt Councillor had tried to shift all his crimes, onto the family of a local credit union bank clerk who had gotten involved in the embezzlement of public works funds, and who was about to deal with it through the form of a family suicide, when she settled the case with her special song magic……
……. Or so, the one-shot first chapter “Hushed up Secret Accounts” went, and as such the unversed tailored story created by Government officials conversely met with success, with it being welcomed with tremendous applause from vast classes that largely surpassed the main readership.
After this, it acquired popularity as a magical heartful story that drew something of everyone’s happiness, through living under this family, the large and small, various feelings of bitter sweetness, and through the puberty of pale love’s awakening.
“Delightful Heroine☆Singin’ Hood!” which began because of a propaganda project, is more than a framed girls’ manga, it has spread into anime, the breadth of being developed into toys, and has become an affair that has achieved major commercial success.
It is a digression, but the coupling track of Character Song 4 「Deliver My Happy♡ O' Singin' Hood」has become the backbone of what Chris who watches “Delightful Heroine☆Singin’ Hood!” having become unexpectedly animated, after the end of AXZ’s original story sings in Karaoke when she went there with her friends.
Although Chris who had known about the origin of this piece, didn’t pay very much attention to it, at first, she became unintentionally engrossed by it while watching its progression.
