Symphogear AXZ Episode 4 Impressions!

Hi guys!

Welcome to the new season of Symphogear! This is where I will be writing about my impressions of the episodes. So, here are my impressions for the fourth episode: Gold Digging! As always, feel free to write your own impressions of the episode in the comments section, but please don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled.

Episode 4 Impressions

This episode had some very interesting twists and over the top action scenes. It started off pretty heavy with some facts about Saint Germain's past. First of all, that she was a slave and that her mother died because her mother was a slave too and that her father cast them out of the house and left them to die on the streets, and as a result of that, her mother died from malnutrition and disease. So that was interesting.

Next, S.O.N.G head to Matsushiro Crater where Hibiki and co. stay behind and try to analyse the chip that Dr. Ver left to them while Maria and co. go around evacuating everybody. Cagliostro then appears and decides to attack on her own, only to get called back by Saint Germain.

We also finally see a shadowy version of Fudou (who is confirmed to be the Old Man of Kamakura in the pre-release keywords) and boy is he a royal jerk. Its clear that father and son do not get along and that he is only interested in national security.

We also learn a fun fact that Maria doesn't like tomatoes which was kind of amusing and I kind of liked the tomato and human analogy that the old woman was trying to make.

Later that night, Germain and co. appear and don their Faust Robes for the first time. The designs are rather interesting, I think that Cagliostro's is most dynamic while Prelati's is still a bit weird (mostly because of the helmet). Its clear that they are relying on a whole lot of human lives to power them through their philosopher stones and they easily trounce the Ignite Modules.

However, the craziest part for me was when Adam Weishaupt appeared (who is the mysterious man in the OP and who kinda looks like Sinbad in character design). I'm not entirely sure if Germain and co. are fully on his side or not, but man was he overpowered and a exhibitionist. I wonder if it was really necessary for him to get naked to use his power.

Maria started glowing again, so maybe their gears are getting an upgrade or Maria and co. are gradually turning into Custodians. I'm not sure, but I hope that you will offer up your opinions.
